The Battle of Gettysburg, fought July 1–3, 1863, was the Civil War’s bloodiest and most pivotal clash, occurring near Philadelphia. Many Philadelphians fought there, including leaders General Meade and General Crawford, now buried at Laurel Hill East. The tour also honors nurses, surgeons, civilians, and supporters who contributed to effort.
